Haryana Khadi & Village Industries Board

“Khadi” means any cloth woven on hand loom in India from Cotton, Silk or Woollen yarn hand spun in India or from a mixture of any two or all of such yarns.

“Village Industry” means any industry located in Rural Area which produces any goods or renders any service with or without the use of Power and in which fixed investment per head of any artisan or a worker does not exceed Rs.1,00,000/-

The Haryana Khadi and Village Industries Board was established on dated 19th February, 1969 by Haryana Govt.

Functions of the board are to discharge and perform all or any of the following duties and functions, namely:

  • To start, encourage, assist and carry on Khadi and Village Industries
  • To encourage establishment of Co-operative Societies and Societies
  • To train people with a view to equip them with required knowledge for starting Khadi and Village Industries
  • Publicise and popularize finished products of Khadi and Village Industries
