Freight Assistance Scheme

Description To enhance the competitiveness of exporting units by defraying the transportation cost for new micro and small exporting units
Nature of assistance ·         Freight assistance to new exporting micro & small enterprises to the extent of 1% of Free on Board (FOB) value or actual freight, excluding government fees & taxes, on transportation of goods from place of manufacture to the seaport/air cargo/by road up to international border, whichever is less.

·         ‘A’ and ‘B’ category blocks: maximum upto INR 5 Lakh per annum

·         ‘C’ and ‘D’ category blocks: maximum upto INR 10 Lakh per annum

·         The new exporting micro & small enterprises should have turnover less than INR 10 Crore and ZED certification Amount of assistance shall be calculated on FOB value of the export consignment as certified by the office of Custom & Central Excise indicated in the shipping bill/airway bill/transport bill.

·         Micro & small enterprises under the same management/ constitution shall be clubbed together and the maximum ceiling of the eligible amount of freight subsidy put together shall not exceed INR 10 Lakh in a financial year

Who can apply? ·         New exporting micro and small enterprises shall be entitled for Freight Assistance for a period of 5 years from the date of commercial production

·         Assistance will be eligible only in case of direct export of the goods manufactured by the exporting unit

·         The unit shall have Udhyam Memorandum/Haryana Udhyam Memorandum

·         The unit should have obtained registration-cum-membership certificate from Export Promotion Council

·         The unit should have obtained Importer-Exporter code from DGFT

How to apply? Application on prescribed form for the grant of Freight Assistance on export undertaken along with supporting documents should be submitted to the Director General, MSME on the department’s web portal within 3 months from the date of closing of the financial year in which the products were exported or from the date of notification of the scheme, whichever is later.
